I have been using the Quick Connect Powerfloat now on the last 57 horses and compared it to the previous model as well as two other types of power floating instruments.
As with the previous PowerFloat model, it is much easier to use than non-PowerFloat types especially with the ability to rapidly change the head position for the upper and lower arcades. The Quick Connect Powerfloat is even easier to use than the original model (if that is possible) as the collar makes rotation of the shaft a simple process. This is where some users have had difficulties with the original Powerfloat.
I cannot wait until the “add-ons” are available here in Australia which will ensure that this instrument is the best possible power instrument for use in the horse for dental equilibration. These extra shafts with their different bur and disc configurations will make even the most difficult case much easier for the practitioner.
